Dear Potential Parade Participant:
Thank you for your interest in the Palatine
Jaycees’ Independence Day Parade. This year’s parade will
be held on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 10am. The theme for the 2008 Parade
and Festival is “Hometown Fest”. We want to promote the
hometown feel of Palatine, reflecting on what makes it a great place
to live.
Due to the popularity of the parade and the significantly reduced line-up
area, we will be RESTRICTING ENTRIES this year. Submission of an application
does not guarantee entry.
Not or Non Profit Parade Applicants:
Applications will be evaluated based on theme representation, entertainment
value, and past participation in our parade. Entries need to embody
at least one of the following characteristics to be considered: Float
tied to the Festival theme – Hometown Fest; Musical Entry (taped
music does not qualify); Other entertainment (karate, cheerleaders,
etc).
Placement in Parade line-up will be based on timeliness of application,
placement during previous years, and distribution of types of entries
in the parade.
Profit Company Parade Applicants:
Profit company applicants with be assessed a $50 Entry Fee. Please send
a check made out to the Palatine Jaycees along with your application
to our mailing address. Same rules apply as the Not or Non Profit Parade
Applicants.
